Manager programme
According to a CBI survey1, in 2004 the cost of absence to UK businesses
was £11.6 billion, with 176 million working days lost.
Managing absence is a major management
challenge, especially avoiding the connected legal issues
of stress and disability.
Increasingly the law demands that employers
protect the health and wellbeing of their employees and yet,
at the same time, the business goals become ever more demanding.
Equipping managers with an understanding
of the relevant law and how to manage within it, is the purpose
of this programme. Through involvement in different situations
managers learn how to approach these problems both with structure
and sensitivity.
