There are nearly 50,000 unfair dismissal claims a year and it is estimated that 80% are lost because employers fail to follow the correct procedure.

Under the new regulations1 these errors can become even more expensive, as the courts can increase the award by up to 50% if the proper procedures are not followed.

Managers often have little idea why the disciplinary policy needs to be followed and the consequences of not abiding by its processes.

This programme uses case studies to guide managers through the legal maze so that they will effectively and legally manage discipline and dismissal problems.
